My family plays a game called "Grabs", where everybody brings 5 gifts worth $5-$10, (that rule never works, some people go overboard, and some people hand-make gifts) Pile them in the center of the room, and after drawing numbers everybody chooses 1 gift until all are gone. Every year "The Elders" (not me yet) choose little rule changes to keep it interesting, but it is always a fun time, and i'll never miss it.
That sounds fun!

or=#800080][/color] a family tradition is to play a game called "puff billiards". Four people can play at once and those not playing are responsible for making gin fizzes. It is a good way to start off the holiday season.

As the years have passed and both my parents and my husband's have moved to Florida, our traditions have changed. But we still keep one small tradition with our (now grown) kids - we open one present on Christmas Eve.

My family and I each year sit around around the fire, and tell x-mas stories, stories in general. Read a few scriptures from the bible and drink spirits, along with some great chinese food.

Tradition reigns on Christmas with my family. We are a huge family, there are at last count 57 of us who are directly related. If we added in the second cousins, etc. well we might make the Guinness book of World Records! I have 5 sisters. We take turns hosting each year.
There is a main tradition called Austins Punch. Austin was the patriarch of the family, father to what the next generation calls "the Aunties," of which I am a member.
The punch tradition never changes, the ingrediants are strickly guarded. I can tell you that it involves 7 different types of liquor, and
various types of frozen juice concentrate, as well as several flavors of soda.
I am not much of a drinker, but I always have the punch, as a matter of fact, friends, neighbors, and the ocassional long lost relative all decend upon the home of which ever Auntie is hosting, just to take their part in the Austin's Punch tradition!
By the time the holidays are over, we have collected enough really funny "it happened at Christmas" family stories to sustain us till the following year!
Now that you have listened to one of our Christmas traditions, who wants punch!!
To the entire community of No Luckers and all of your loved ones, have a safe and joyous holiday season.

My family tradition is to always get an angel off a tree, we don't care what tree who's tree or where its at. As long as we get one. This year I have a two year old who loves hot wheels cars and balls, I think this is the easiest one ever!!!
When I wake up christmas morning I will think of that 2 year old opening a present from me { or shall I say santa }

oh yes, it is wonderful to be part of a large family. My family members are truly some of the most wonderful friends that I have. my sisters and I always talk about writing a book about our family. I do seriously have at the very least, some really funny happenings. So far how ever the only thing we have come up with is the title, lol.
If we ever get around to it I will send you a copy. Or mayde a cassett as I don't imagine you have very much relaxation time. :>)
