US Players Being Hurt By Online Casino Gambling Laws

The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act has created quite a stir since its inception back in late 2006, but it is US online slot players that are feeling the worst effects of the law. Many casinos no longer accept US players, and that means less available jackpots to be hit.
In the past five days alone, over sixty five online jackpots have been hit, according to Jackpotgraphs.com, none of which was done so at a casino that accepts US players. It was almost $1 million worth of jackpots that US players had no chance to get their hands on.
"This type of data is discouraging when you consider that US players are playing somewhere online," said observer Yancey Helms, "the UIGEA was aimed at stopping Internet gambling in the US, but all is has done is put more money in the unregulated casinos' hands."
Some of the most heavily regulated online casinos based in other countries pulled out of the US market after the UIGEA. That left less known casinos to come in and take all of the players being turned away from the other sites.
Representative Barney Frank understands the concerns of people such as Helms. Frank is readying legislation that would overturn the UIGEA, and create the platform to regulate the Internet gambling industry in the US. He has contended for years that people in the US are going to gamble online, and in order to protect them, there must be regulations holding online casinos accountable.
The week of online slots continues today, and there is no doubt that more jackpots will be hit in the coming hours. Maybe sometime soon players in the US will get to experience the joy of winning one of those jackpots.
