It’s that time of the year where we pretend that the Super Bowl will be different than every other year. I enjoy seeing dominance and the legacy that Tom Brady is continuing to build, but the Patriots and the Golden State Warriors are in the same boat: watching the same team dominate year after year gets old after a while. Let’s take a look at some of the key matchups between the Los Angeles Rams and the New England Patriots.
The player/coach duo of Brady and Belichick have made their way to the Super Bowl four out of the last five years and they’ve managed to take two of those Super Bowls. Both games that they won are some of the most historic games in Super Bowl history. This Pats’ team is the most experienced Super Bowl team in the league and although the Rams have had great success this season, they haven’t been to the Super Bowl since 2003 (where they lost to the Patriots). With an inexperienced Super Bowl team going against one of the most dominant teams in the NFL, it’s practically a David and Goliath story.
The Rams have just one task: stop Tom Brady. It’s not a very easy task but they have one player who is capable of doing so: Aaron Donald. Donald won defensive player of the year last year and with 20.5 sacks and 43 tackles this season, he’s likely to win it again this year.
Intertops Sports has the Pats winning this game with -2.5 and the Rams at +2.5, which doesn’t come as much of a shock. I’ve mentioned this a couple of times, but betting against Tom Brady is often times a difficult thing to do. Him and Belichick are the greatest player/coach duo in NFL history and they’ve been shown to be nearly impossible to stop.
The Patriots and the Rams are the first and second ranked offense in the postseason, respectively. Throughout Super Bowl history it’s become apparent that defense wins championships, which is going to be somewhat concerning to the Rams. At first glance they have the second ranked defense, but they have the seventh worst pass defense. This comes as a huge concern to the Rams because the Patriots are the best passing team by a large margin. They averaged 345.5 passing yards a game in the postseason - 54.5 more yards than the second ranked Chicago Bears.
The Rams need to play the best pass-defense imaginable and they need to get an absolutely perfect game out of Aaron Donald. Place your Superbowl bets and watch the Rams and the Patriots battle it out in Super Bowl LIII this Sunday on CBS at 6:30 PM ET.

We go to the Elks every year. Open bar, meal for two, then entered into a big pool. Gonna go alone to buy into a couple others, pay next years ticket, eat, then bring a plate home for hubby and finish the game here!!!!
Enjoy all!!!!!!
