NFL Odds: Carolina Panthers have home field advantage against the Minnesota Vikings in Week #3 NFC Showdown on 9/25/16 Sunday (1 PM ET, FOX)
The Panthers are 7-point favorites against the Vikings going into week 3. The Minnesota Vikings may be 2-0 going into Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers, but they have a serious injury to overcome.
Intertops and Bodog Game Odds as of 9/21/16: Minnesota Vikings +7 @ Carolina Panthers -7
Playing well in their brand new US Bank Stadium, the Minnesota Vikings beat the Green Bay Packers 17-14 on Sunday night. Sam Bradford played up to his potential in his Minnesota debut, throwing for 286 yards and two touchdowns. Unfortunately, Adrian Peterson joins Teddy Bridgewater on the sidelines with a knee injury. Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata will fill-in during Peterson's recovery.
The Panthers are now 1-1 after a huge 46-27 win over San Francisco. Cam Newton had a spectacular game with 353 yards and four touchdowns. While the Panthers certainly bounced back from their Week 1 loss in Denver, they had had four embarrassing turnovers and the defending NFC champions obviously have room for improvement on both sides of the ball.
Intriguingly, while the Vikings are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 as an underdog of 3.5 to 9.5 points, they’re just 1-9 straight up in those games. The Vikings are 3-2 against the Panthers in their last five meetings – the last of which came way back in November 2014 when Minnesota won 31-13 at home.
