Ryanair is marking Munster's 24-point victory over Leinster in the Heineken Cup by giving away thousands of free flights.

Some 24,000 passengers will be able to enjoy free flights from Shannon after the low-cost airline decided to give away 1,000 free flights for each point by which Munster beat Leinster.

The booking period for the flights runs from Monday, April 24 until midnight of Thursday, April 27. The travel period is between May 15 and June 30, with applicable days being Monday to Thursday, subject to availability. The flights do not include taxes and charges.

Ryanair's head of communications, Peter Sherrard, congratulated Munster on reaching the Heineken Cup final for the third time "and for giving their fans so many free flights".

He noted that demand for the free flights would be "huge" and urged those wanting to take advantage to book quickly to avoid disappointment.
